*UPDATED* BISSA Grand National Draw

Dear Supporter,

Many thanks for your continued support, your team needs you. As a slightly different fundraiser, this year, BISSA will be organising a Grand National Draw. This is with the kind permission of Batley Bulldogs RLFC for which we thank them.
The Grand National takes place on Saturday the 11th of April, so the Draw will take place in the Taproom, Commercial St, Batley ( formerly Wilton Arms) on Thursday 9th April 2015.  Continue reading *UPDATED* BISSA Grand National Draw

BISSA help bring KEEGAN home

BISSA are delighted to have helped support the club with the signing of Prop Forward Keegan Hirst for the 2015 season.

Fans favourite Hirst returns after a one year stint at Featherstone, where he caught the eye with several impressive performances, particularly in the latter part of last season.

Keegan will add immense size and power to the already rather intimidating Batley front row, with the Dog’s faithful hopeful of seeing him recreate the exceptional form he showed in the 2012 and 2013 seasons, along with the invaluable contribution he made during his loan spell last year at a very challenging time for the Bulldogs.

The signing provides further evidence of the intent the club are showing ahead of next season, and the determination to improve on this year’s on field performances. The positive vibe throughout the club at this moment in time is clear for all to see.

The BISSA committee would once again like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported the organisation in recent times, support which has enabled the club to make the eye catching signings we have seen in recent weeks and months.

Our support may be less in numbers than some of our rivals, but the loyalty and enthusiasm shown is second to none. And makes the club, our club what it is.

A thank you from BISSA

After an unforgettable day on Sunday where the whole club pulled together to exemplify what the Batley Bulldogs are all about, the BISSA Committee wanted to take this opportunity to thank both its loyal members, and anyone else involved in our club who have helped and supported us during the 2014 season.
It’s been a challenging season in many ways, but the support of all involved has been crucial in ensuring that it is finishing on a high. Although hopefully not finished just yet!
During 2014, BISSA funding has been used to help the club secure the permanent signings of Ben Black, Anthony Nicholson and Luke Blake to name just a few, plus the key mid-season loan signings of Alex Brown, Keegan Hirst and Ben Heaton. Along with this, BISSA have also helped to secure the signing of Sunday’s Man of the Match, Wayne Reittie both for the remainder of this season, and for 2015.
Furthermore, BISSA are delighted to have helped support the club with the recent re-signing of star winger Johnny Campbell, and with several new signings for next season, details of which will be publicised in the weeks to come.
In conjunction with this, the BISSA Committee has also recently held a very positive meeting with Club officials to discuss plans/events for 2015, and to look at ways of further developing and improving an already excellent working relationship.
What is quite clear is that BISSA support will be even more crucial next season with the club participating in a division with full time teams with financial resources which far outweigh our own.  Every little will help in what will be an exciting but challenging year for the Dogs.  So please encourage family, friends, and anyone else you know with an interest in our club to sign up and help the cause!
Thanks again for all your help and support.  Without it we may not be looking forward to clashes with teams like Bradford Bulls and London Broncos at the Mount next year.

RIP Peter Birmingham

BISSA have been asked by the Birmingham family to let people know that unfortunately Peter Birmingham passed away this morning. Peter was a founder member of BISSA and relished his role as Secretary, during which time he helped the other founder members to set up, and maintain, a very strong organisation. BISSA would like to take this opportunity, to place on record , their acknowledgment of  his massive efforts , and ongoing support, and pass on our heartfelt condolences to all his family.

RIP –Peter Birmingham—BISSA.
